Rudolf Kurz

About this artist: "Trained as a medical doctor in my native Germany, I later travelled and ended up studying painting at the Art Students' League in New York City. Since moving to Canada I have shown my art in four solo exhibitions and many group shows. I have also painted a dozen murals in hospitals, libraries and schools - the largest of them sixty-five meters long!"
"My carefully detailed, often bizarre and darkly humorous paintings, drawings and etchings are influenced by Surrealism and by the art of medieval and Renaissance Northern Europe."
"I create my etchings using a centuries old printmaking technique. I don't use any shortcuts like photographic transfer of an image to a printing plate. The design is drawn and then etched with acid onto a treated zinc or copper plate. This image is printed on dampened, thick printmaking paper, using an old fashioned, hand cranked intaglio press. My favourite printmaking paper is the French paper BFK Rives, made by a company that is centuries old. Making one print takes about half an hour. Creating the printing plate takes many days. ( This is why my prints are priced higher than photomechanical reproductions.) My prints are limited to an edition between 30 and 50. They are signed, numbered and titled by me."

H Winfield

From the artist:  "I am a contemporary abstract painter, and I create by blending and layering color using different techniques and painting methods.  I notice the magic of color everywhere, often in unanticipated places - from the surface of a body of water to the rustic, industrial warehouse floor of a manufacturing facility. I am greatly inspired by nature and by light. Light has such a profound visual effect on everything, and I try to infuse it into every painting, and to consider how different types of lighting will affect the painting.  Each painting is original, authentic and personally signed. After creation, I apply a clear acrylic, UV resistant, gloss varnish to protect the quality of the painting, add a touch of shine, and to safeguard your investment."  To see more work by this artist, click on the post title above to be taken to her shop.

Lins Artwork

About the Artist:  "I am originally from Manchester England. My family emigrated to America in the 70's when I was a teenager. It was hard to adjust to American life at first but it all worked out pretty good in the end. I have a wonderful husband, (married 30 years now and he still makes me laugh) 2 great kids and the best granddaughter in the world. Life is about family and what you can give to them. I always try to give them the sun for smiles of fun, good times and the moon to keep them calm and centered. They keep me alive and painting!! They are big lovers (and critics) of my work. My husband won't let me throw any of my art away., even if I hate it!!!
I have been an artist all my life. I think I was born into it. I cant be away from it long or I start jonesing for a paintbrush!!! I have a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art and I have been creating and selling my art for over 30 years, from portrait paintings, murals, to notecards and T-shirt designs, architectural drawings, trompe l'oiel. (and everything in between it seems.) I have been in several juried art shows, of which I have won awards, have had 3 one-person shows and I have had the good fortune to have been represented by 7 galleries from New England to Florida.
I sell my original paintings as well create murals now (see my full artsite at:  http://www.linsartwork.com/) and I have created a line of notecards and prints from my original pen and ink drawings and my acrylic paintings that I really love. Many of my friends have been collecting my christmas cards for over 25 years. I will have them all for sale soon as i am just starting out on Esty and having fun.  I hope you enjoy my art as much as I did creating it."

Midnight Butterfly

Hi, I'm Sarah. I am a studio artist, the best free labor in my husband’s high school art classroom, and the mom of two fluffy white dogs and a frog. We live in Port Lavaca, a small town on the coast of Texas. I love making art, talking with Nick, my husband, at Skillets (the small diner in town), seeing my family and friends, dancing in the rain, putt-putt, walking the beach, and of course not quitting my day job.
I graduated with a BFA in studio art in 2008, from Sam Houston State University. One of my favorite mediums to work in is collage (using magazine paper), but I go through fazes where I love to paint.  If you have questions about how I made something, or what techniques I use feel free to ask. I also update what I am working on pretty regularly on my blog site www.sarahmcintyre22.blogspot.com if you are interested check it out."  You may also visit the artists shop by clicking on the post title above.

Matt Condron

The small picture you see here of this phenomenal oil painting, (yes, oil painting!) just does not do this artist any justice.  You MUST go to his site http://www.mattcondron.com/ and look at his work.  As I said, these are not photographs - they are paintings.  The detail, light and shadows is beyond amazing.  Words just cannot provide any sort of accurate description to this gift of talent and work.  Go see it and be astounded.

Staunch Studio

Artists' Statement  ---  I love seeing my patterns take form. I love picking my colors, both complimentary and contrasting. And I love that sometimes, I don't know what I'll end up with when I'm done painting.
I work on small pieces of wood; nothing measures bigger than 9" in length. My artwork is for bookshelf spaces or those places on the wall where you need a "little something". And my work gives you that "little something"-bold colors and geometric patterns for the modern home or office.

seeing is believing

From the studio of Seeing is Believing, these pieces are truly stunning.  To quote from the artists' studio... "Structure has never been my strong suit. I have always loved the free flow of design along with a twist of whimsicality. I'm not saying I will never create something structured. But just at this moment in time I Love being a bit more free with my pieces. Each one is unique, no matter if I am submerging my fingers in Clay, Paint or Fabric. I have a passion for nature and I feel each piece reflects that...
