Care More

About this artist:  "I was born in a small town in Northwest Pennsylvania where I was raised on a farm by two wonderful loving parents. It is there where I learned to love and appreciate nature in all its glory. I currently live with my husband on the Kenai River in Alaska where I am surrounded by beautiful mountains, soaring eagles, splashing salmon and of course the occasional wandering moose and bear. I draw my inspiration from my surroundings, family and friends. All my life I have loved to create...since childhood when I discovered that my hands and my heart were my best tools! You name it, I probably attempted to create it. But my love of nature together with my love of fashion has inspired me to create this dramatic line of jewelry. I have finally found my niche. I LOVE making these unique treasures. Every morning I can't wait to get up, put on a pot of coffee and make another one!"

Arctida

Statement from the Artist:  "I live on the beautiful and dramatic East coast of Sweden with my loving husband and our sweet baby girl. The creative studio of Arctida is situated in the 750 year old city of Stockholm in Sweden. However, the inspiration for my jewelry is taken from much farther north where I was born and grew up, from the polar circle all the way up to the North Pole. The name Arctida refers to the hypothetical polar continent that is believed to exist in geological past of our planet.
The northern nature with its crisp polar nights and gleaming Northern lights is the main inspiration source for of all of my art. Each individual piece of my jewelry is created with the ideas and influences from the world of the lone Scandinavian mountains that astonish with their untouched landscape and wandering flock of wild reindeer, then on to the even more remote, uninhabited world of ice, populated only by the seals and polar bears.
Through this source of inspiration as well as my interest in natural science (I work as a molecular biologist/Cancer researcher at my day job) I am able to create unique pieces of art with both inner and outer power and genuine "one of a kind" – design."

Linda Sudimack

Statement from the Artist:  "I make hand crafted jewelry, using sterling, copper, brass, gold and gemstones. I love to move metal and make it sing. I also love to put unusual gemstone beads together and see where they take me. I'm usually a member of the less is more club, although I do occasionally forget that! Most of my jewelry is all occassion, and can be worn anywhere at any time.  The majority of my work is "one of a kind" - it is constantly changing and being added to. I am way too prolific and there is always more available than what is listed in my shop.  So if you don't see something that you like, e mail me and we'll see what we can find. Most pieces have matching earrings that I rarely get posted...or they can be made, just ask.
"IMAGINATION TO WEAR" and "THE WIRE LEADS, I BUT FOLLOW" are the mottos for my jewelry. I love what I am doing and I hope that that feeling is always reflected in my work."  To visit Linda's shop and see all of her creations, click on the post title above.
