Crickets Handknits

From the Artist: "Hello ! My name is Celeste (Crickets is my nickname). I am very blessed; my fulltime career and sole source of income is designing & crafting unique, handmade fiber art from vintage & novelty yarns. I create my own and my customers' ideas without guidance from patterns and each piece is a Crickets original ! I maintain a large collection of hundreds of yarns so I'll have a varied palette of colors & textures; each new project is an adventure & custom orders are welcomed !
If you're wondering why I use only soft, cruelty free, designer, vintage or novelty yarns (vegan) with no potentially allergenic or irritating wool/animal fibers, here's a little more info: http://www.savethesheep.com/f-veganknitting.asp.   I also prefer non-animal fibers because my customers don't have to worry about moths or odors."

Red Earth Girl

From the Artist:  "As an eight-year old, I would swipe bits of fabric and thread from my Mom's stash to create doll clothes, new hair bows and to hang as decoration from my ceiling in my room. Now, I love experimenting with color, new techniques and materials.  I teach hand quilting and piecing at St Louis Community College and love seeing my students catch the crafting bug."

Lizzie Bean

Statement from the Artist:  "I'm in Shropshire, England, enjoying making lovely things from natural materials & collected scraps. I'm really into texture, fabric, pattern, paper, wood and wool, above all in natural colours and with natural earthy textures. I'm an aspiring fibre artist, greenwood worker - turning bowls, making stools and rustic chairs etc.. I paint watercolour landscapes whilst out on walks...I sew, spin, knit and weave...and oh and I make old fashioned-looking paper decorations."
