Artists' Statment:   "I create artistic and functional pieces from salvaged and reclaimed wood. I started doing this several years ago because I had access to demolished houses and I could take all I wanted for free. Pittsburghers don’t like to see anything go to waste. When word got around that I was reusing old house parts, people gave me their discards. Some also told me about interesting finds they saw being thrown out.  I try to retain and enhance old finishes that show the effects of time and weather. I don’t start out with detailed plans. I gather the materials I feel like using and try to piece them together to create the shape and depth I envision. It is like puttingtogether a puzzle, always with a few pieces missing."  There are a number of very interesting and wall-worthy pieces in this artists shop.  To visit you can click on the post title above.
