The DesignMakers blog was created to celebrate the exceptional makers, the unsung heroes of craft and the exquisite handmade works of independent artists, stylists, designers, photographers and so on...
...it takes a village
This concept is not new, in fact, one could say it has been overdone in some arenas. What we aim to do is showcase the projects of artists and designers whose work may yet be undiscovered or perhaps a new method has been developed for an existing craft. We'd like to think that we're seeking out what's new, what's exciting and finding out where indie art, design, style and crafts are headed in the next decade.
We regularly feature, and put the 'Spotlight' on new indie talent -- or those that deserve another look. And, that feature may also include a maker that you've seen before, except now there's a twist to their story. Let's revisit their work and find out more... Go behind the scenes and find out where they get their inspiration, what continues to move them, and what they do to drive their craft into new directions.
