RoseMarys Clay

Artists Statement:  "I have worked with clay for about 30 years. At first I took classes at the local community college. Then I set up shop at home, building my own updraft gas kiln. It was not that efficient, and soon, after a lot of tears, I bought a used 12 cubic foot gas kiln. I also enjoy raku and pit firing.  I love handbuilding probably more than wheel throwing. Lately I have been experimenting with cone 6 glazes and that has been interesting. There is nothing, however, as beautiful as a cone 10 reduction fired piece where the glazes have moved and blended with each other.  Another love of mine that you will see in my shop. Gourd shapes are beautiful and remind me so much of favorite ceramic forms."
